It is rare to see a picture like this which so poignantly depicts an animal whose habitat has been utterly destroyed through aerial bombing - rare to see because the human victims of war will always command the media attention.  While this focus is understandable, I think that looking beyond the human victims of war could actually help humans in the long term by providing us with a more comprehensive view of what gets destroyed in battles.
