“Brown Thunder” 2006 by Michael T. Rea via Daily Serving
Artist Michael Rea bases his artwork on memories of ephemeral or fictional forms - i.e. weapons from a sci-fi film.  He doesn’t use references, just his memories (in order to assure failure of accuracy or originality), and he works in unfinished wood to emphasize the temporal nature of these reconstructions.  His goal is to explore impossible possibilities (or vice versa).  Check out the links above to see this tank in action rolling around the city.
It’s interesting that not only are there Evil Geniuses imagining fearsome weapons of war to unleash on humanity, there are also dreamers and artists imagining improbable, impractical, and useless weapons of mass absurdity to unleash on those who believe in the utility of war as means to an end.
